The onus was now on Kasisi and Wavinya and they did not disappoint. The two saw off Albertina and Nnoruga in straight sets of 21-17 and 21-10 to avert a golden (decider) match and seal Kenyas place to the Olympics.
Kenya landed Nigeria in the final after seeing off hosts Morocco 2-1 in a golden (decider) match while Nigeria got a bye to the final after their semis opponent, Egypt, were ruled out of the match after a team member tested positive for Covid-19 thus forcing the whole team to be quarantine.
The team joins their indoor volleyball counterparts, Malkia Strikers, in the trip to Tokyo. Malkia Strikers qualified for the Summer Games in 2020, beating among others Cameroon in a round-robin tournament.
